EasyMesh is our new modeling tool that will revolutionize edge extending modeling technique in LightWave. It's all-in-one tool which allows dragging elements when left mouse button is pressed, or extending elements when right mouse button is used. It's context sensitive tool - clicking on point moves or extends to 2 point poly, clicking on edge moves or extends to quad, and clicking on polygon moves or extends to box. All this is done automatically, without changing active tool, switching modes from Point to Edge or Polygon, and without selecting/deselecting elements on which you want to work. This saves a lot of time and edge extending in perspective viewport becomes very natural way of work.

EasyMesh key features:

  • Working in perspective viewport.
  • Integrating Drag Tool in Point mode, Drag Edge (which does not exist natively) and Drag Poly (which does not exist natively), Extender Plus in all working modes, Extrude Tool in Polygon mode, into one tool.
  • Super fast work even with very large objects with thousands of polygons.

Left mouse button click on point - drags point to new location.

Left mouse button click on edge (near center) - drags edge (two points) by offset.

Left mouse button click on polygon (near center) - drags polygon (3 or more points at a time) by offset.

Right mouse button click on point - makes point in new location and connect with clicked to 2 point polygon.

If control key is pressed and there are two edges with just one polygon, quad is made to fill gap. Very useful thing to remember.

Right mouse button click on edge - extend edge to quad.

If control key is pressed and there is 1 or 2 edge with just one polygon, they are used in quad instead of creating new points. Very useful thing to remember.

On the left image you can see the plugin control panel.

Mode defines whether tool works in Extending mode, or Extruding. The result is similar like between using Extender Plus and Extrude Tool.

It's advised to download videos to disk using Save File As... and watch in off-line movie player.
